Health Benefits: Medicare Supplemental Plans
Medicare is a health insurance
program for:
- People 65 or older
- People under age 65 with certain disabilities,
and
- People of all ages with End-Stage Renal Disease
(permanent kidney failure)
Medicare part "A" is Hospital insurance,
part "B" is Medical Insurance.
By having Part A and B of Medicare, you can
purchase a medicare supplement policy. This
policy would typically pay for the part A and
B deductibles and the part B, 20% co-insurance.
There are several types of medicare supplements,
Attained Age, Issue Age, Select and Medicare+Choice
plans. Each medicare supplement has options
of plans from letter A to J.
You would choose a plan for yourself depending
on where you live, your travel habits and your
prescription drug needs. Ohio Health Benefits
can help select the right plan for you and explain
the changes due to the Medicare reform. Please
give us a call 24 hours toll free 866-557-9745.
