IRS Announces 2016 HSA Guidelines
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) recently announced 2016 guidelines on HSA contributions and out-of-pocket limits for spending related to high-deductible health plans (HDHP).
For calendar year 2016:
- Annual contribution limit: $3,350 for individuals with a HDHP with self-only coverage; $6,750 for individuals with a HDHP with family coverage.
- Annual HDHP deductible: At least a $1,300 deductible for self-only coverage or $2,600 deductible for family coverage.
- Annual out-of-pocket limits (including deductibles, copays, etc.): Not to exceed $6,550 for self-only coverage or $13,100 for family coverage.
